Summary
This release of ElectricAccelerator contains several new features that improve performance and scalability enhancements along with expanded platform support for the latest versions of Android and major Linux distributions.
Windows Performance
This release introduces Jobcache for Windows, which dramatically improves the performance of Windows builds when using ElectricAccelerator. The JobCache feature is now available on the Windows platform for the Microsoft Visual Studio C/C++ as well as the gcc compiler.
Android M support
ElectricAccelerator now supports Android Marshmallow (6.0.1) and the Java Android Compiler Kit (JACK).
Enhanced Cygwin Support
64 bit Cygwin support is introduced with this release. Latest versions for 32-bit are now also supported.
Scalability
This release improves the scalability of the ClusterManager for supporting larger number of concurrent builds and agents.
Security
Several web security best practices were applied to the ElectricAccelerator Cluster Manager, such as disabling web server directory listings and disabling TLSv1.

ElectricAccelerator now supports the following platforms:

- Ubuntu Linux 15.10 (kernel 4.2.0-34) (64-bit)
- RHEL 7.2 (kernel 3.10.0-327) (64-bit)
- RHEL 6.7 (kernel 2.6.32-573) (32- and 64-bit)
- RHEL 5.11 (kernel 2.6.18.-398) (32- and 64-bit)
- Windows 10 (64-bit)

Upgrades
Electric Cloud recommends that all customers upgrade their ElectricAccelerator components to version 8.2: Cluster Manager, cluster nodes (agent machines), and all local eMake build machines.
Supported Upgrade Paths
Accelerator 8.2 supports upgrades from all currently supported versions. See the “Upgrade” chapter in the ElectricAccelerator Installation and Configuration Guide for complete upgrade instructions.
